Le Murier School Guernsey

Everest Challenge

The challenge is designed around the 8,848 metres height of the Himalayan Peak and once again we are looking for teams of 6-8 people to raise plenty of sponsorship and climb for one hour. Anyone can climb, from toddlers to grandparents. If you don’t have a team, just come along we’ll find somewhere for you to climb. We also have different levels of climbing to suit different levels of ability and we can accommodate wheelchair users.

Between 80 and 100 teams take part in this special and unique event over a period of three days.

The aim of the school’s residential education programme is to provide all of our students with as many residential experiences as practically possible, thus enabling them to gain the skills necessary to become valued members of our community.

Sponsored by Healthspan

Over £19,600 was received in 2017 and these funds enabled our students to benefit from and enjoy trips to Lihou Island, Devon, Wales and France, as well as local camping and in-school residentials. Every student in school will take part in one or more residential visits, or an activity suited to their needs, and this is mainly financed by the Climb. We will be delighted if you feel able to support this extremely important part of our students’ experiences this year which is our 25th event.
